Job Description
A Machine Operator responsible for operating and maintaining recycling equipment in a solar panel recycling facility, supporting the company's mission to promote sustainable solar energy through responsible end-of-life management of solar panels.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate recycling equipment to process solar panels
- Perform machine adjustments, repairs, and troubleshooting
- Conduct preventative maintenance and cleaning of equipment
- Operate related production equipment such as pre-wash, wash, extrusion systems, forklifts, and clamp trucks
- Ensure raw materials are of good quality and feed the production line
- Follow safety policies and procedures, including lock-out tag-out
- Maintain high standards of area housekeeping
- Communicate with leadership regarding downtime events
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED, or a combination of additional education and experience
- Aptitude for math, problem-solving, computers, and mechanics
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work and communicate well with others
- Proficiency with hand tools
- Willingness to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Ability to work the 2nd shift
- Experience operating recycling equipment and related production equipment, including Pre-Wash systems, Wash systems, Extrusion systems, forklifts, clamp trucks, and other related equipment
- Ability to perform daily preventative maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and machine adjustments to ensure efficient machine operation
- Ability to operate assigned equipment to process materials and ensure finished goods quality
- Responsibility for following all safety policies and procedures, including lock-out tag-out procedures
- Responsibility for ensuring the line is fed with good quality raw materials
- Responsibility for adhering to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) rules
- Responsibility for maintaining high standards of area housekeeping
- Good attendance and being a self-starter
