Job Description
The role involves implementing and maintaining Process Safety Management (PSM) policies and procedures, leading safety activities, and collaborating with various teams to ensure compliance and safety in the manufacturing of innovative battery materials.
Responsibilities
- •Implement and maintain Sila PSM policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- •Lead process hazard analysis safety activities such as quantitative risk assessment, HAZID, HAZOP, and LOPA workshops.
- •Review multi-disciplinary engineering documents and existing equipment to ensure compliance with internal and industry standards.
- •Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with PSM standards.
- •Coordinate internal incident and near miss investigations, define corrective actions, and monitor completion of corrective action items.
- •Oversee and manage the Management of Change system to ensure compliance and maintain accurate documentation.
- •Collaborate and coach engineers, operators, and other business partners in assessing and mitigating process safety needs.
- •Influence others across the organization to drive technical solutions.
Requirements
- •B.S. in Engineering, Environmental Science, Safety Management, or comparable field.
- •5 years of process safety experience.
- •Highly knowledgeable and experienced with OSHA/WSHA Process Safety Management and EPA Risk Management Program requirements.
- •Experience applying protection strategies and identifying risk reduction options.
- •Ability to effectively influence a new organization that is learning process safety management at scale.
- •Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills to effectively manage tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain a structured workflow in a fast-paced environment.
- •Ability to wear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, and safety toe shoes.
- •Ability to move long distances such as from building to building and be stationary for extended periods of time.
- •Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, copier, printer, etc. in a fixed location.
