Job Description
A Senior Staff Product Manager responsible for developing and executing product strategies for next-generation battery materials, translating customer and market needs into actionable development initiatives, and driving innovation in the energy storage sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and develop product vision and roadmap for next-generation battery materials
- Cultivate strategic relationships with OEMs and cell manufacturers to understand their technical requirements
- Translate OEM requirements into internal test protocols and success metrics
- Prioritize internal development initiatives based on company goals, customer needs, and technology gaps
- Create technical marketing materials and sales enablement tools to communicate product value
Requirements
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in Product Management or a strategic role supporting product development within a hard tech company, ideally a leading battery cell manufacturer or a battery materials company supplying to top-tier battery manufacturers.
- Demonstrated success in defining, launching, and managing strategic products, preferably within the advanced materials or energy storage sectors.
- Technical understanding of battery chemistry, cell design, manufacturing processes, and the critical performance requirements for advanced battery materials.
- In-depth knowledge of the product development lifecycle for novel materials, including the unique challenges and opportunities associated with scaling from lab to commercial production.
- Background in identifying product opportunities, conducting competitive analysis, and translating customer needs into product roadmaps.
- Ability to define and champion a compelling product vision and comprehensive roadmap for next-generation battery materials, aligning initiatives with market trends, technological advancements, and business objectives.
- Ability to cultivate deep, strategic relationships with key customers OEMs and cell manufacturers to understand their evolving technical requirements and future material needs.
- Skill to translate complex OEM cell maker requirements into precise internal test protocols and success metrics, and to define necessary internal capabilities for product development.
- Proficiency in strategically prioritizing internal development initiatives, balancing company priorities, critical customer needs, and current technology gaps.
- Experience in developing compelling technical marketing materials and sales enablement tools that communicate product value and performance advantages.

Compensation/salary range: $172,000 to $218,000
