Job Description
The Accounts Payable Supervisor oversees the accounts payable department, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, maintaining vendor relationships, and implementing internal controls to support financial compliance and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- •Manage and supervise the accounts payable team, providing guidance and support.
- •Oversee the processing of invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and KPIs.
- •Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient payment processes.
- •Maintain and update vendor records, including contact information and payment terms.
- •Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies.
- •Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports, including aging reports and payment forecasts.
- •Implement and maintain internal controls to prevent fraud and ensure regulatory compliance.
- •Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- •Manage the annual 1099 filing process.
- •Develop and implement accounts payable policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- •Handle escalated vendor inquiries and disputes professionally and promptly.
Requirements
- •Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field
- •Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role
- •At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory position overseeing an accounts payable team
- •Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and best practices
- •Experience with Purchase Requests and Purchase Orders
- •Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- •Excellent organizational and time management skills
- •Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- •Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- •Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- •High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- •Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) or similar certification
- •Experience with NetSuite ERP system
- •Demonstrated experience with process optimization and continuous improvement mindset
