Job Description
The Engineering Manager will lead the development of mobile applications for commercial vehicle navigation, focusing on building scalable routing and in-cab experiences to improve safety and efficiency for drivers within Samsara's connected operations platform.
Responsibilities
- •Lead development of mobile applications for commercial vehicle navigation using iOS and React Native
- •Define the long-term roadmap for navigation in collaboration with product and design teams
- •Integrate routing data with other teams to optimize navigation for drivers
- •Mentor engineers and establish best practices for mobile development and architecture
- •Hire, manage, and develop a high-performing team of engineers
Requirements
- •8 years of experience in software engineering, with 5 years leading mobile teams
- •Experience building production-grade 0-1 mobile apps
- •Strong understanding of mobile architecture, performance, and platform APIs
- •Proficient in React Native and iOS development using Swift or Objective-C
- •Experience with mapping SDKs and geolocation APIs
- •Familiarity with mobile CI/CD, build tools, and test automation
- •Degree in Computer Science or related field
