Job Description
An Engineering Technician supporting the Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering teams by developing, installing, troubleshooting, and improving manufacturing processes and equipment in a sustainable battery recycling environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support development, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and improvement of manufacturing processes and equipment
- Fabricate and assemble new equipment from prototypes to production
- Support installation and commissioning of new equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve process and equipment issues
- Assist with operation of equipment for engineering trials and handovers
- Support manufacturing improvement projects
- Design and fabricate tooling and fixtures
- Develop equipment documentation for operation and maintenance
Requirements
- Support the Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering teams with the development, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and improvement of manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Fabricate and assemble new equipment from prototypes to production.
- Support installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Troubleshoot and solve process and equipment issues.
- Assist with operation of equipment for engineering trials and handovers.
- Support manufacturing improvement projects.
- Design and fabricate tooling and fixtures.
- Develop equipment documentation for operation and maintenance.
- Possess strong mechanical aptitude with a background in industrial equipment processes.
- Have a hands-on and detailed-oriented approach to problem solving.
- Have metal fabrication and machine shop experience.
- Possess good computer skills, including MS Office and Solid Modeling 3D CAD (preferred).
- Have welding experience (preferred).
- Have electrical troubleshooting experience (preferred).
- Ability to safely perform job duties in both office and production environments.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. as needed.
- Must maintain regular and punctual attendance in alignment with company and regulatory standards.
- Must be able to communicate clearly.
- Work in a split environment between office and production facility, including extended periods in the production environment.
- Ability to work in challenging conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, while protected by PPE, for extended periods.
- Work hours are Monday through Friday, 5x8s, with the ability to work weekends as needed, including occasional work weekends or alternate shifts to support production needs.
