Job Description
A leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing the company's cost accounting and inventory functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, implementing ERP systems, and collaborating across departments to optimize manufacturing costs and processes.
Responsibilities
- •Lead the inventory and cost accounting functions, ensuring accurate recording of manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, and cost allocations in accordance with US GAAP and company policies
- •Establish and maintain costing methodologies for products and production processes
- •Implement and manage inventory and cost accounting modules within the ERP system Oracle Fusion
- •Perform variance analysis to evaluate actual costs and investigate discrepancies
- •Assist in preparing financial statements with cost-related insights for external reporting and audits
- •Collaborate with finance and operational teams to develop budgets and forecasts for manufacturing costs
- •Develop and maintain cost accounting policies and procedures for accurate financial reporting
- •Establish internal controls over cost accounting processes to ensure compliance and audit readiness
- •Partner with procurement, production, engineering, and supply chain teams to align cost accounting with business objectives
- •Identify opportunities to streamline and automate cost accounting processes using technology and best practices
Requirements
- •Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
- •CPA or CMA certification is preferred
- •Minimum of 8 years of experience in cost accounting
- •At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role in cost accounting
- •Proven experience implementing inventory and cost accounting modules in ERP systems, preferably Oracle Fusion
- •Experience establishing and maintaining costing methodologies for products and production processes
- •Experience ensuring accurate valuation of inventory, including raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods (FG), applying appropriate cost methods such as FIFO, LIFO, and weighted average
- •Experience conducting periodic inventory reconciliations
- •Experience performing regular variance analysis to evaluate actual costs and explain variances to management and operational teams
- •Experience assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with cost-related insights and analysis
- •Experience developing and maintaining corporate cost accounting policies and procedures
- •Experience establishing and maintaining effective internal controls over cost accounting processes to ensure compliance with SOX requirements and facilitate audit readiness
- •Proven ability to collaborate with finance, procurement, production, engineering, and supply chain teams to align cost accounting activities with business objectives
- •Ability to identify opportunities to streamline and automate cost accounting processes, leveraging technology and best practices
- •Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- •Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- •Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders
- •Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate complex accounting concepts to non-accounting colleagues
- •Self-motivated and proactive with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development
