Job Description
The role involves leading the design and transformation of IT operational service delivery models for large storage environments, working closely with customers to assess current practices, recommend future state solutions leveraging Pure Storage technology, and ensuring seamless migration and operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structured discovery of customer storage operational models to identify pain points and requirements.
- Assess current state using industry best practices such as ITIL frameworks, focusing on service management processes.
- Document and validate current operational issues and quantify their business impact.
- Recommend future state operational models leveraging Pure Storage technology.
- Collaborate with customers to define new service management workflows and transition plans.
- Partner with internal teams to create comprehensive migration and service delivery models.
- Demonstrate how Pure's solutions address customer challenges and facilitate operational improvements.
Requirements
- 10 years experience managing and or designing the operational service delivery model for large globally distributed on premise and cloud hosted storage environments for a globally recognized Enterprise brand.
- Experience of working with multiple storage technologies specifically Dell, Hitachi, HPE, IBM, Infinidat, NetApp and VAST and preferably Pure Storage.
- Detailed understanding of storage management platforms and the broader ecosystem of technologies required to deliver the IT operating model, e.g., automation tools, service management, SIEM, SOAR, CMDB.
- Understanding of data center and cloud technologies and their relationship to storage, e.g., compute, networks, virtualization, security, containers, and modern application development techniques.
- Qualified Practitioner in industry best practice frameworks such as ITIL v3 and v4, with the ability to demonstrate how incident management procedures will change and be simplified as a result of automation and or XaaS offerings.
- Ability to explain how change management processes will be transformed and how non-disruptive changes can be automated and assigned into non-business critical change windows, including defining how the CAB processes can be simplified and automated.
- Ability to identify the business impact of improved, simplified, and automated change processes.
- Ability to define refined release management processes and identify the operational benefits of reduced requirement for business impacting release window usage.
- Experience in As-Is to To-Be capacity management requirements as a result of automation and or XaaS.
- Experience in building a migration roadmap for integration to core service management platforms such as ServiceNow as new technology is migrated from test into production.
- Ability to define and build the core content of the Operating Manual requirements and changes to enable service readiness into Operations.
- Structured and logical approach to working with the ability to expertly craft an impactful and repeatable assessment structure to lead customers through discovery and analysis.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce detailed content summarizing customer content, value, and solutions in executive language.
- Ability to build sophisticated process maps detailing current and future functions.
- Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence customer project stakeholders by demonstrating the benefits of the future with Pure Storage.
- Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, especially sales engineers, services, account teams, architects, and financial analysts.
