Job Description
The Client Technical Director at Pure Storage is a senior solutions architect responsible for engaging strategic automotive and manufacturing clients, defining end-to-end technology solutions, and driving digital transformation initiatives through technical leadership, stakeholder management, and industry expertise.
Responsibilities
- •Define end-to-end technical solutions aligned with industry and business strategies
- •Manage stakeholder relationships, understanding their goals and effectively communicating solutions
- •Develop financial models and calculate Total Cost of Ownership for clients
- •Lead large IT projects and establish trusted advisory relationships with clients
- •Create client collateral such as presentations, proofs of concept, and technical documentation
- •Guide sales teams in delivering optimal technology solutions
- •Provide technical leadership and mentorship within the engineering organization
- •Identify market trends and map customer challenges to Pure Storage's technology offerings
- •Contribute to maintaining and fostering the company's technical culture
- •Demonstrate technical expertise across storage, compute, networking, and emerging technologies
- •Engage in continuous learning and industry participation to stay current with trends
Requirements
- •Experience of driving cultural change in organizations.
- •Knowledge across industry, business, IT strategy, and technology domains relevant to Automotive and Manufacturing sectors.
- •Ability to present to C-Suite clients, discuss processes with business managers, and work with developers on solution strategy, architecture, and code.
- •Experience in designing operating models from boardroom to storage operations.
- •Ability to create a value proposition directly linked to a client’s business model, challenges, issues, and future vision.
- •Expertise in quickly learning new business models and drivers and articulating them to multiple customer stakeholder personas across different regions and countries.
- •Proficiency in presenting and explaining the benefits and differentiators of technology solutions, including mapping solutions to meet industry, business, and operational requirements, and explaining implementation methods and commercial/financial models.
- •Experience in building and articulating financial and commercial models with benefits to customers and internal stakeholders.
- •Ability to translate core values, differentiators, and capabilities across the portfolio, and articulate customer success stories and outcomes to multiple stakeholder levels within strategic accounts.
- •First-class interpersonal skills with a comfortable, open, and compelling communication and presentation style.
- •High degree of diplomacy and strong emotional intelligence (EQ).
- •Define end-to-end solutions encompassing industry and business approaches, implementation methods, technology usage, and influence on commercial and financial models.
- •Understand stakeholders, their drivers, challenges, goals, and expectations, and communicate effectively with them.
- •Calculate Total Cost of Ownership scenarios for customers, explaining how they align with their challenges and Pure’s benefits.
- •Lead large IT projects, establish as a thought leader and trusted advisor, and collaborate with sales, engineering, and product management teams.
- •Create client collateral including presentations, papers, demonstrations, proofs of concepts, and contribute to joint offerings with other teams.
- •Guide the sales team in delivering optimal technology solutions in a competitive environment.
- •Provide technical leadership and mentoring for the Solutions Engineering organization and engage in field marketing events.
- •Identify key market trends, map customer challenges with Pure Storage’s technology strategy, and predict long-term competitive trends.
- •Help maintain the company’s technical culture, and retain and attract top technical talent.
- •Strong technical expertise across storage, compute, database, networking, virtualization, and emerging technologies.
- •Considerable knowledge in data management and storage technologies, with a strong infrastructure background.
- •Technical understanding in data science, modern IT architecture modeling, Agile application development, DevOps, automation principles, infrastructure operations, project management, and IT security.
- •Combine strategic thinking with a detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- •Outstanding communication skills, able to articulate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences, and build trusted relationships with customers.
- •Deep understanding of commercial and disruptive technology trends in the client’s market, especially in Global Automotive and Manufacturing customers.
- •Knowledge of competitors’ strengths and weaknesses and ability to articulate Pure’s differentiators and advantages for relevant use cases.
- •Willingness to dedicate approximately 10% of time to training and participation in industry conferences.
