Job Description
This role involves providing legal counsel on commercial real estate matters related to energy storage project development, including drafting and negotiating property agreements, supporting project financings, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful site acquisition and project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate real estate agreements such as purchase and sale agreements, leases, easements, and options.
- Support land acquisition and management activities, including site acquisition closings.
- Resolve complex title and survey issues related to real estate assets.
- Assist in providing legal support for project financings and tax equity investments involving real estate.
- Oversee engagement of local and external counsel for real estate matters.
Requirements
- JD. required.
- 3 - 5 years of experience within a top-tier law firm in a commercial real estate practice group or in-house experience supporting real estate efforts for utility scale renewable energy-related development.
- Experience drafting, negotiating, and advising on purchase and sale agreements, option agreements, ground lease agreements, easements, amendments, and other real property agreements.
- Experience in title and survey review, risk identification, and risk resolution.
- Experience in negotiating title insurance policies and familiarity with energy title policies secured for renewable energy and/or energy storage projects.
- Experience supporting real estate matters for complex project financings.
- Experience supporting real estate in complex M&A transactions.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a cross-functional environment with both technical and non-technical team members who are geographically dispersed.
- Strong presentation and writing skills.
- Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office products Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- JD degree.
