Job Description
The role involves supporting the integration, testing, and environmental qualification of spacecraft components and systems, including operating lab equipment such as thermal chambers and vibration tables, to ensure spacecraft readiness for launch within Planet's satellite constellation projects.
Responsibilities
- •Support acceptance, testing, and integration of satellite components and systems
- •Coordinate and lead environmental test campaigns for spacecraft
- •Develop and follow procedures for building ground support equipment and flight hardware
- •Operate environmental testing equipment such as vibration tables, shock tables, thermal chambers, and vacuum chambers
- •Design, assemble, and test tools and infrastructure for spacecraft transportation and launch support
- •Perform environmental lab maintenance and support test fixture development
- •Support launch integration activities
Requirements
- •Ability to work on-site in a lab environment 5 days a week
- •Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in spacecraft or related technical fields
- •Knowledgeable about safety protocols in a laboratory or technical environment
- •Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
- •Ability to juggle multiple tasks and make quality decisions without negative impact on others
- •Ability to work well with cross-functional teams to achieve desired results
- •Experience with Engineering Documentation Control, G-Suite, Jira
- •Experience resolving routine issues and escalating other issues to the appropriate individual in a timely manner
- •Excellent attention to detail and quality in work
- •Ability to travel within the United States or internationally as needed
- •Experience supporting Launch Integration activities
- •This position requires access to export-controlled information, and the candidate must be able to access all applicable export-controlled information without additional export licensing being required by the Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls
