Job Description
The Materials Program Manager at Planet is responsible for managing supply chain projects, procurement, and supplier relationships to support manufacturing and engineering teams in launching and scaling satellite components and technologies.
Responsibilities
- •Manage and own Clear-to-Builds (CTBs) and lead build readiness reviews.
- •Lead strategic component procurement and execute procurement kick-off cycles and long lead time purchase orders.
- •Maintain and analyze costed Bill of Materials (BOMs) and influence engineering design updates based on component lifecycle status.
- •Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, supplier quality, and supply base teams to execute and scale manufacturing processes and materials.
- •Manage vendor relationships from initiation to completion, including expediting deliveries and addressing shortages.
Requirements
- •Minimum of 4 years of experience in a production environment, executing and delivering results to leadership.
- •Experience building and managing Clear-to-Builds (CTBs) and Build Readiness Review Reports.
- •Experience in onboarding and managing suppliers, including heavy roadmap review and proposing new technologies and vendors to Engineering.
- •Effective communication skills, including interpersonal, small and large group communication, and with executives.
- •Ability to think strategically and execute tactically, with persistent attention to details and a high level of comfort working with numbers.
- •Experience collaborating cross-functionally to achieve outstanding customer service in a dynamic environment.
- •Ability to deliver on operational requirements while leading projects and initiatives with competing deadlines.
- •Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills with the ability to learn technical applications quickly.
- •Ability to work independently, prioritize, and multi-task while maintaining a positive and collaborative attitude.
- •Access to export-controlled information without requiring additional export licensing, as this position requires compliance with EAR ITAR requirements.
