Job Description
The HVAC Quality Control Technician is responsible for reviewing and inspecting HVAC installation projects to ensure they meet quality standards, design specifications, and energy efficiency goals, providing feedback and support to contractors and internal teams to maintain high system performance and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and close-out project milestone packages, including sales and design plans, installation photos, and verification measures for HVAC projects
- Verify HVAC systems' compliance with design specifications, performance standards, and energy efficiency goals
- Inspect HVAC installations on-site to assess quality and provide feedback to contractors
- Evaluate HVAC monitoring and control platforms for proper configuration and functionality
- Approve or reject project milestones based on quality standards and communicate feedback to stakeholders
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to project milestone rejections to ensure timely completion
- Develop and refine quality control processes, installation guidelines, and contractor training programs
- Conduct site inspections of mechanical, structural, and electrical components of HVAC installations
- Analyze data to identify trends and recommend corrective actions for quality improvement
- Perform training sessions for junior technicians to enhance team capabilities
Requirements
- Four years of experience in a technical or construction role within the HVAC industry.
- Experience with interdepartmental problem-solving or project management.
- Familiarity with HVAC system design and energy efficiency standards preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence third-party contractors.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency with data analysis and standard business tools such as G-Suite, Microsoft Office, or similar platforms.
- Ability to access mechanical rooms, rooftops, or confined spaces, including working in various weather conditions.
- Capacity to stand, kneel, or bend for extended periods during inspections.
- Commitment to safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
