Job Description
The Master Electrician will oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and codes, while supervising projects and troubleshooting complex electrical issues in various settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee, install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Ensure electrical installations comply with codes and safety standards
- Plan, coordinate, and manage electrical projects from start to finish
- Diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems
- Use testing equipment to identify electrical problems
- Enforce safety regulations and conduct safety audits
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and project progress
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and stakeholders
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent completion of an apprenticeship program
- Valid Master Electrician license in the state of Michigan
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a journeyman electrician
- Proficient in reading blueprints and technical diagrams
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes and safety regulations
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong leadership and supervisory abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with electrical testing equipment and hand tools
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in various weather conditions
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Ability to perform prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, and bending
