Job Description
The Associate, Project Engineer supports the design and development of utility-scale solar photovoltaic projects, collaborating with engineering teams to create layouts, perform site analysis, and ensure project standards are met throughout the development process.
Responsibilities
- •Implement drawing plot templates and generate shape files for solar PV systems standards
- •Execute PV layouts in AutoCAD during development phase
- •Utilize GIS AutoCAD plugin and Civil 3D surface files to identify buildable terrain
- •Create development phase SLD diagrams
- •Collaborate with engineering team to ensure consistency in PV system layouts
- •Modify plans based on evolving site constraints during project development
- •Review early-stage civil designs with civil engineers
- •Prepare PVsyst energy production reports aligned with design assumptions
- •Participate in interconnection study reviews and incorporate utility feedback
Requirements
- •Electrical Engineering degree from an accredited program or a related technical field.
- •At least 1 year of experience working in a professional engineering or construction environment, including internships.
- •Fundamental knowledge of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- •Fundamental knowledge of PVsyst.
- •Ability to interpret USGS, FEMA, and topographic maps.
- •Must have a roll up your sleeves and let’s get the job done right type attitude.
- •Strong attention to detail with a high level of integrity and proven organizational capacity to manage multiple projects.
- •Demonstrated qualities of integrity, credibility, and professional responsibility.
- •Ability to travel and access sites of varying terrain, with frequent travel up to 1-2 weeks per month or about 20% of working time.
- •Must carry an acceptable driving record and active driver’s license.
