Job Description
The Compliance Reporting Manager is responsible for managing internal and external compliance processes, ensuring audit readiness, developing policies, and fostering a culture of compliance across various departments within a clean energy company.
Responsibilities
- •Manage and track internal compliance data and documentation for audit readiness, including tax credit and local law obligations.
- •Lead the review and assessment of project-level reports related to prevailing wage and apprenticeship programs, ensuring remediation of discrepancies.
- •Prepare and submit responses to external compliance requests from financiers, government agencies, and rating bodies.
- •Develop, document, and maintain internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in collaboration with functional leaders.
- •Monitor changes in compliance regulations and assess their impact, establishing internal monitoring processes and coordinating with external auditors.
- •Design and deliver internal compliance training to promote a culture of integrity and transparency.
Requirements
- •Five (5) or more years of experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory affairs, ideally in renewable energy, infrastructure, construction, or a similarly complex industry.
- •Demonstrated experience managing regulatory compliance programs and/or internal audit processes in sectors such as energy, construction, infrastructure, or government contracting.
- •Proven ability to manage complex documentation and reporting processes, including tracking deadlines, preparing third-party submissions, and ensuring audit readiness.
- •Hands-on experience with Prevailing Wage, Apprenticeship programs, tax credit compliance (e.g., Investment Tax Credit (ITC)), Local Law 97 (LL97), or similar environmental compliance regulations.
- •Strong knowledge of internal controls, Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) development, and cross-departmental coordination to ensure compliance adoption and follow-through.
- •Experience working with or responding to external auditors, financiers, legal teams, or public agencies.
- •Familiarity with risk management frameworks and continuous improvement methodologies.
- •Ability to build and maintain systems for recordkeeping, document versioning, and process accountability.
- •Excellent communication skills with experience delivering training or compliance education to internal stakeholders.
