Job Description

A Senior Full Stack Software Developer responsible for building and maintaining web-based solutions to support Nexamp's clean energy initiatives, collaborating with internal teams, mentoring junior developers, and contributing to the company's mission of advancing sustainable energy.

Responsibilities

  • Build, refine, and deploy web-based software solutions using React, Django, and Azure stack.
  • Participate in sprint planning, execution, code reviews, demos, and retrospectives to support agile development.
  • Mentor and collaborate with junior developers to enhance team skills and project quality.
  • Write high-quality, reliable, and efficient code from conception to deployment.
  • Troubleshoot and solve technical issues independently, ensuring system stability and performance.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of professional software development experience at companies with 10 or more developers.
  • Experience developing and maintaining web-based solutions in modern Python, ideally using frameworks such as Django, FastAPI, or similar.
  • Experience building consumer-facing frontend applications in React and Typescript.
  • Robust understanding of web standards, infrastructure databases, storage, caching, content delivery, and cloud platform offerings.
  • Strong debugging skills and a track record of independently solving problems.
  • Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
  • Experience with infrastructure tools such as Terraform.
  • Ability to work in person 1-2 days per week from the Boston, MA office.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with people inside and beyond the organization.
  • Experience in showcasing initiative to improve current work, processes, products, and services across the organization.
  • Accountability and ownership mentality.
  • Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
  • Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty.
  • Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and apply that knowledge to inform business decisions.
