Job Description
The Senior Construction Superintendent is a leadership role responsible for overseeing solar construction projects, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance, while managing site teams, subcontractors, and project progress to support the company's mission of advancing clean energy.
Responsibilities
- •Supervise and coordinate the activities of contingent Construction Superintendents across solar project sites.
- •Assign site leadership roles, monitor performance, and provide coaching and feedback.
- •Ensure safety, quality, and compliance standards are met; exercise discretion to stop work or implement changes as needed.
- •Evaluate subcontractor performance and make recommendations regarding contracts and future engagement.
- •Interpret and enforce company policies, OSHA standards, and site-specific regulations.
- •Lead onboarding and ongoing training of site personnel and superintendents.
- •Monitor project progress, assess risks, and recommend staffing, scheduling, or scope adjustments.
- •Oversee documentation review and close-out of compliance, QA/QC reports, and inspection logs.
- •Serve as a subject matter expert on solar construction methods, compliance, and site logistics.
- •Advise leadership on operational performance, training standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- •3-5 years of construction management experience, preferably in the solar industry, with a successful track record in project management
- •Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- •Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Project, and various other construction management tools
- •Knowledge of OSHA safety standards, with OSHA 10 as a minimum requirement
- •Maintains professional licenses in trade, such as CSL, NABCEP PV, etc.
- •Willingness to travel
- •Valid and current Driver's License
- •Ability to effectively communicate information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond the organization
- •Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization
- •Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify root causes of problems, and present creative solutions
- •Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry
