Job Description
A Lead Data Analyst at Nexamp is responsible for developing and managing data products, providing insights to support business decisions, ensuring data quality, and fostering a data-driven culture within a clean energy company focused on solar and storage solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and deliver data products including models, dashboards, analyses, and A/B tests.
- Act as a product manager and implementer for data offerings within your domain.
- Identify opportunities for impact, surface insights, and support decision-making for business stakeholders.
- Create and maintain data documentation, validate data mapping, and monitor data quality.
- Promote data literacy, monitor data asset usage, and support self-service BI adoption among stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the data team using agile methodologies and participate in code reviews.
- Partner with data architects, engineers, and analysts to shape the data platform's vision and roadmap.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of experience as a data analyst serving business owners and collaborating with data engineers
- Experience in independently solving problems and demonstrating a strong track record of problem-solving skills
- Advanced skills in SQL and BI tool administration and usage
- Ability to gather requirements, prioritize, deliver, maintain, and improve reusable data models, dashboards, analyses, A/B tests, and other data assets
- Experience in creating and maintaining comprehensive data documentation, writing user stories or tickets for data engineering, validating data mapping, conducting QA, and implementing data quality monitoring
- Ability to monitor data asset usage, increase data literacy, and promote self-service BI tools among stakeholders, including providing training, guidance, and support
- Experience working within a centralized data team using agile methodologies, collaborating with peer analysts through overlapping work, priority shifting, and code reviews
- Ability to partner with data architects, engineers, scientists, and analysts to shape the vision and roadmap for the data platform and define and track annual OKRs
- Strong communication skills for effectively conveying information, ideas, and perspectives within and outside the organization
- Demonstrated initiative to improve current work, processes, products, and services across the organization
- Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify root causes of problems, and present creative solutions
- Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty
- Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of Nexamp’s operations and apply that knowledge to inform business decisions
