Job Description
The Senior RF GaN Devices Engineer will lead research and development efforts to advance GaN-based semiconductor devices, focusing on high-frequency, high-power, and high-efficiency applications, while collaborating with internal teams and external clients to innovate and optimize device technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conceive, develop, and execute GaN device research programs to enhance frequency, power, and efficiency.
- Design new epitaxial structures and fabrication methods to improve device performance and yield.
- Develop devices for flip chip or 3DHI integration requirements.
- Review, interpret, and summarize RF measurement data to inform device or design improvements.
- Collaborate with internal and government customers to shape future device development efforts.
- Mentor junior staff and work within a team environment.
- Work with circuit and subsystem designers to understand device requirements for next-generation systems.
Requirements
- PhD in electrical engineering or related field with 5 years of post-graduate experience in GaN HEMTs, including design, modeling, processing, and characterization of GaN HEMTs
- Practical and theoretical understanding of RF electronic devices
- Experience with TCAD simulations in commercial packages
- Understanding of device reliability
- Deep understanding of device fabrication methods and the impact on device performance and yield
- Proven track record of leading experimental electronic device research and development programs
- Hands-on experience with writing, winning, and executing research projects
- Must have authored scientific publications and given technical presentations
- Ability to pursue difficult technical subjects independently, design experiments, analyze data, and provide solutions
- Ability to produce technical presentations and reports and communicate effectively with colleagues and customers
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- BS, MS, or Ph.D. with experience in semiconductor physics, material science, or electrical engineering
- Able to work within a semiconductor cleanroom environment
- US Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
