Job Description
The Group Lead for the Computational Device Microscopy Group at HRL Laboratories is responsible for managing a team of scientists and engineers, focusing on advanced materials and device technologies, while contributing technically in areas such as epitaxial materials and microscopy.
Responsibilities
- •Manage resources by allocating team personnel to projects
- •Recruit talent and manage performance through feedback
- •Provide critical feedback to staff
- •Contribute technically in areas of epitaxial materials, materials characterization, and microscopy
- •Lead efficient operations of technical functions
Requirements
- •Prior experience in a role involving leadership of technical staff.
- •Demonstrated experience with successful resource allocation and management of technical projects.
- •Experience with epitaxial materials growth.
- •In-depth knowledge of epitaxial chemical vapor deposition.
- •Ability to work well in a team and independently.
- •Knowledge of organizing and leading engineering teams.
- •Proficiency in use of computers and complex electronic equipment.
- •Strong oral and written communication skills.
- •Ability to interact with vendors and colleagues.
- •Willingness to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- •BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or related scientific discipline.
- •Must be sufficiently mobile to work within confined spaces and have both visual and hearing acuity.
- •Must be able to occasionally work in a cleanroom environment.
- •US Citizenship is required.
- •Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is required.
