Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in characterizing qubit performance and optimizing quantum control
  • Develop and contribute to software for quantum processor simulation and experiments
  • Write and analyze source code for quantum characterization, simulation, and compilation
  • Collaborate with software developers and experimental practitioners
  • Design, develop, profile, and optimize software for multicore CPU and GPGPU computations involving matrices, multi-dimensional arrays, PDEs, and Monte Carlo methods

Requirements

  • Candidates must exhibit abilities to read and produce robust source code and associated mathematical analysis for numerical evaluation of methods in quantum characterization, simulation, and compilation.
  • Candidates must be familiar with mathematical software development, preferably Python-based, or alternatively Julia, C, C++, etc.
  • Candidates must be proficient in modern software-engineering practices, including designing clean, well-documented APIs.
  • Candidates must be experienced in developing, profiling, and optimizing multicore CPU and/or GPGPU computations involving matrices, multi-dimensional arrays, PDEs, and Monte Carlo methods.
  • Candidates must have a doctoral degree in physics, applied physics, electrical engineering, computer science, or a similar field adjoining applied quantum information.
  • Candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance.
  • Candidates must have collaborative software development experience or equivalent software skills, including source control with SVN, Git, branching, pull requests, code review, test-driven development, and CI/CD.
  • Candidates must be able to read and produce mathematical analysis for numerical evaluation of methods in quantum characterization, simulation, and compilation.
