Job Description
The Vehicle Dynamics Engineer will develop and validate high-fidelity vehicle models for autonomous trucks, supporting simulation and testing to optimize vehicle performance, safety, and system integration in a fast-paced autonomous vehicle company.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain high-accuracy vehicle dynamics models for simulation environments (SiL, MiL, HiL).
- Validate simulation models using real-world vehicle test data.
- Analyze and interpret simulation results to support troubleshooting, performance optimization, and root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with Controls, Perception, Software, and Systems teams to ensure model fidelity aligns with development and testing needs.
- Support HiL testbed design and integration with vehicle subsystems.
- Perform vehicle-level assessments related to ride, handling, stability, and dynamic performance.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of modeling methodologies, validation processes, and simulation tools.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, Robotics Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in the automotive industry with a strong focus on vehicle dynamics and control systems.
- Expertise in simulation tools such as TruckMaker, TruckSim, ADAMS, and dSPACE.
- Practical experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) systems, CAN-based analysis, and debugging tools.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle sub-systems including suspension, steering, braking, powertrain, and tire dynamics.
- Proficiency in MATLAB Simulink for model development and simulation.
- Working knowledge of Python and/or C for automation, analysis, and tool integration.
- Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
