Job Description
The role involves managing and developing geospatial data and mapping systems to support autonomous vehicle operations, including creating high-definition maps, developing routing algorithms, and integrating geospatial data into AV systems to ensure safe and efficient middle-mile freight transportation.
Responsibilities
- •Ensure availability and quality of geospatial data and location-based tools for autonomous vehicle operations
- •Gather, organize, and synthesize geospatial data to support decision-making across teams
- •Maintain and update high-definition maps for autonomous vehicle navigation with centimeter-level precision
- •Develop and optimize routing algorithms for autonomous vehicles with multiple criteria
- •Create and manage data pipelines and manage spatial databases for large-scale geospatial data processing
- •Develop geospatial applications and real-time mapping solutions for data visualization and decision-making
- •Conduct quality assurance to ensure geospatial datasets are accurate, up-to-date, and standards-compliant
- •Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate geospatial data into autonomous vehicle systems
- •Develop customized GIS tools to enhance data visualization and operational decision-making
- •Provide geospatial data for testing and simulation to improve autonomous vehicle performance
Requirements
- •A bachelor’s degree or its foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- •Three (3) years of experience as a software developer, software engineer, or in a related role occupation in geographic information systems or geospatial technology.
- •Three (3) years of experience developing online map-centric platforms, implementing customized routing algorithms, and deploying solutions for large-scale geospatial ETL pipelines.
- •Three (3) years of experience designing and optimizing routing algorithms, including advanced solvers for vehicle routing problems with multi-dimensional constraints.
- •Three (3) years of experience with Python programming for spatial data processing and REST API development using modules such as GeoPandas, Folium, or Turf.js.
- •Three (3) years of experience developing advanced geospatial web applications using the Django web framework, GeoDjango extension, Django ORM, GDAL, and Shapely.
- •Three (3) years of experience with PostgreSQL with the PostGIS extension, Cassandra, and optimizing spatial queries for fast data mining in large datasets.
- •One (1) year of experience synthesizing and visualizing large-scale geospatial datasets.
- •One (1) year of experience conducting customer-facing workshops related to vehicle routing problem solvers and live track and trace solutions.
- •One (1) year of experience developing solutions based on advanced GIS technologies, including spatial indexing, spatial clustering, map annotation, and LIDAR point cloud processing.

- •Base annual salary range: $199,550 - $210,000
