Job Description
The Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting, is responsible for supporting external financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and assisting with technical accounting issues, audits, and mergers and acquisitions activities within the organization.
Responsibilities
- •Support external financial and statutory audit activities
- •Coordinate with the accounting department to ensure timely audits
- •Review, document, and develop financial disclosures related to new accounting standards
- •Analyze complex accounting topics such as revenue recognition, leasing, credit losses, and business combinations
- •Research and assist with the adoption of new accounting pronouncements
- •Collaborate with cross-functional teams on technical accounting issues during M&A activities
- •Support integration of new entities and liquidation of existing entities from a financial reporting perspective
Requirements
- •Five years of prior experience in public accounting or equivalent experience.
- •Strong knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and ability to apply extensive know-how of technical accounting and financial reporting standards.
- •Ability to research technical accounting matters and prepare well-written memorandums and presentations articulating these matters to both well-versed accountants and non-finance stakeholders.
- •Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or in a related field with an Accounting Certificate or qualification, which meets the California CPA eligibility requirements.
- •Demonstrates a detail-oriented and hands-on style, excellent organizational skills, and ability to prioritize demands to meet deadlines.
- •Strong analytical skills and critical thinking with the ability to analyze financial results.
- •Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse team.
