Job Description
The Mobile Equipment Operator at Enviva is responsible for safely operating heavy industrial equipment to manage the movement of raw materials and finished products in a wood bioenergy production environment, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy industrial equipment such as front-end loaders and forest machines to unload logs and load production equipment.
- Inspect equipment regularly and report unsafe or malfunctioning equipment.
- Monitor and adjust operational parameters in the control room to meet safety, quality, and productivity targets.
- Perform daily checks and basic maintenance on equipment, including cleaning and greasing.
- Manage the movement of raw materials and finished products through the production process.
- Maintain accurate paperwork related to operations.
- Ensure work area cleanliness and safety through daily housekeeping duties.
Requirements
- Internal company certification required.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal job instructions.
- Proficiency in mathematics and measurement.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Willing and able to operate heavy material moving equipment requiring extended periods of sitting.
- Willing and able to perform tasks such as occasionally pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Willing and able to walk, climb, stoop, and stand during work shifts.
- Ability to operate levers with both hands while seated for long periods.
- Ability to bend, squat, climb, and lift items above shoulders occasionally.
- Willing and able to work around moving equipment and machinery.
- Willing and able to climb ladders and work off elevated surfaces up to 50 feet on an occasional basis during each shift.
- Must be able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees, in all weather conditions.
- Ability to perform daily checks and basic maintenance, including blowing, washing, and greasing equipment.
- Ability to monitor and adjust wood yard control room operating parameters to ensure safety, quality, and productivity targets.
- Proficiency in maintaining proper paperwork related to job activities.
- Responsible for safe operations of heavy industrial equipment such as Front-End Loaders, clamp fork, and caterpillar forest machine track loaders to unload log trucks and load logs into production equipment and log storage areas.
- Inspect equipment and inform appropriate point of contact of potentially unsafe or improperly operating equipment.
- Perform daily housekeeping duties of work area to maintain company standards.
- Perform other duties assigned for the job.
