Job Description
The Research Analyst II at Energy Solutions conducts quantitative and qualitative research related to energy policy, analyzes data, and produces reports to support energy efficiency and clean energy initiatives, contributing to large-scale sustainability impacts.
Responsibilities
- •Conduct qualitative and quantitative research on energy policies, impacts, and technical data.
- •Analyze complex technical reports and assess data sources for relevance and accuracy.
- •Perform various energy and economic impact analyses, including cost-effectiveness and greenhouse gas assessments.
- •Develop clear documentation, presentations, and reports to communicate research findings and methodologies.
- •Ensure quality assurance and quality control of research outputs.
- •Apply new analytical techniques and methodologies under senior staff guidance.
- •Oversee and review supporting staff work on research projects.
- •Collaborate with teams to manage multiple projects within schedule and budget constraints.
Requirements
- •A minimum of five years of relevant work experience or graduate school years applicable in a relevant technical field such as economics, engineering, or another scientific field.
- •A bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field, e.g., economics, engineering, or another scientific field.
- •Demonstrated excellence in conceptual analysis, critical thinking, quantitative analysis, and attention to detail.
- •Strong written and communication skills, including experience writing technical reports and delivering technical presentations.
- •Proven ability to manage and execute complex research tasks independently and collaboratively.
- •Professional experience estimating costs and benefits, conducting cost-benefit analysis, and analyzing lifecycle cost impacts.
- •Relevant domain knowledge in at least one area such as energy efficiency, clean energy, electrification, demand flexibility, decarbonization, distributed energy resources, building science, utility programs, public policy, building codes, appliance standards, or regulations.
- •Professional experience conducting policy impact analysis, utility program impact evaluation, or techno-economic potential studies.
- •Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- •Ability to prioritize and be flexible in a fast-paced, evolving, collaborative environment.

- •Compensation salary range of $80,000 - $95,000, commensurate with experience
