Job Description
A senior Frontend Engineer will develop and maintain React TypeScript web applications focused on visualizing and exploring Earth observation data, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to create geospatial tools and data-rich interfaces that support science and sustainability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain React TypeScript applications for visualizing and exploring Earth data
- Collaborate with designers, engineers, and domain experts to shape products from concept to implementation
- Develop interactive geospatial tools, map-based UIs, and data-rich interfaces
- Contribute to architecture decisions, reusable components, and maintainable code
- Communicate clearly through pull requests, documentation, and asynchronous discussions
- Represent the organization in forums and meetings with partners
Requirements
- 3 years professional experience with strong proficiency in React and TypeScript, and a deep understanding of component architecture, performance, and maintainability
- Experience in building and maintaining React TypeScript applications for visualizing and exploring Earth data
- Ability to collaborate with designers, engineers, and domain experts to shape products from concept to implementation
- Experience working on interactive geospatial tools, map-based UIs, and data-rich interfaces
- Ability to contribute to architecture decisions, reusable components, and write clean, maintainable code
- Ability to communicate clearly in pull requests, documentation, and asynchronous conversations
- Experience with handling and visualizing geospatial data using mapping libraries and standard data formats
- Demonstrated initiative and ownership, working with open-ended problems, clarifying tasks, making decisions, and actively shaping the project alongside the team
- Ability to write readable, modular code with tests to back it up, and help define or work within code standards and CI pipelines
