Job Description
The Managing Director of Market Fundamentals Structuring leads the analysis of energy markets across North America, develops market forecasts and valuation models for renewable energy assets, and oversees risk management and business development strategies within the energy storage sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead analysis of North American energy markets, maintaining market models and developing forecasts.
- Oversee financial hedging activities and support business development strategies.
- Build and maintain capabilities to analyze market risks related to policies, market rules, power grid, and technology trends.
- Generate market views on renewable storage demand, market conditions, revenue streams, and strategic opportunities.
- Develop and maintain price forecasts and revenue models for market simulations and valuations.
- Lead development of methodologies to value revenue streams for storage assets.
- Collaborate with internal teams to perform risk, policy impact, and revenue analyses for projects.
- Review and communicate forward price curves and assumptions to stakeholders.
- Supervise a team of professionals in energy market analysis and modeling.
Requirements
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or closely related quantitative field
- Eight (8) years of experience performing energy trading, risk management, market fundamentals and development, which may be gained concurrently
- Eight (8) years of experience building teams and internal capabilities to analyze market risks within the energy landscape across North America including policies, market rules, power grid, and technology trends and their impact on renewable assets
- Eight (8) years of experience generating comprehensive market views on renewable storage demand, market conditions, competitiveness, growth drivers, revenue streams, risk factors, technology innovation, and strategic opportunities for greenfield development and M&A
- Eight (8) years of experience developing and maintaining price forecasts and revenue models used to run market simulations, valuations, and performance analyses
- Eight (8) years of experience leading the development activities of internal storage modeling capabilities for both short- and long-term energy storage projects
- Seven (7) years of experience leading multi-functional teams within the energy storage sector
