Job Description

A Health Safety Coordinator responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining occupational health and safety programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, conducting risk assessments, and fostering a strong safety culture across Celonis offices globally.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor health safety policies and procedures in compliance with local and EU regulations
  • Conduct risk assessments and workplace inspections to identify hazards and implement preventive measures
  • Design and deliver health safety training programs for employees at all levels
  • Promote a safety culture through awareness campaigns, safety talks, and safety committees
  • Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and implement corrective actions
  • Manage external audits, inspections, and interactions with health safety service providers
  • Coordinate emergency response plans and oversee crisis management procedures

Requirements

  • Develop, implement, and monitor the company’s health safety policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with Spanish legislation (e.g., Ley de Prevención de Riesgos Laborales 31/1995) and EU regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and workplace inspections to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement preventive measures.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies such as INSST (Instituto Nacional de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo) and local labor authorities.
  • Define global health safety strategy for Celonis and ensure its implementation at each location.
  • Contribute to all global health safety audits and maintain adequate records.
  • Design and deliver health safety training programs for employees at all levels, including emergency response, first aid, ergonomics, and safe work practices.
  • Promote a strong safety culture within the company by driving awareness campaigns, toolbox talks, and safety committees.
  • Lead and manage safety drills and emergency preparedness exercises.
  • Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain and analyze incident reports, trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous safety improvements.
  • Ensure the proper reporting of occupational illnesses and accidents to regulatory authorities.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all health safety-related matters within the organization.
  • Work closely with HR, Workplace, and department heads to integrate HSE practices into daily business operations.
  • Manage external audits, inspections, and interactions with health safety service providers such as occupational health services and external risk prevention agencies.
  • Develop and oversee emergency response plans and coordinate crisis management procedures, including fire safety measures, evacuation plans, and emergency response team training.
  • Possess a university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) and a Master’s degree in Occupational Risk Prevention.
  • Hold certifications in health safety such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or ISO 45001 Lead Auditor (highly desirable).
  • Have a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in a health safety role, preferably in a large organization.
  • Have strong knowledge of Spanish and EU health safety regulations.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, audits, and investigations.
  • Possess excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
  • Be fluent in both Spanish and English, written and spoken.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
