Job Description

A Health Safety Specialist responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining occupational health and safety programs across Celonis offices globally, ensuring regulatory compliance, promoting safety culture, and managing incident investigations and emergency procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor health safety policies and procedures in compliance with regulations
  • Conduct risk assessments and workplace inspections to identify hazards and implement preventive measures
  • Define and oversee the global health safety strategy and ensure its implementation across locations
  • Design and deliver health safety training programs for employees
  • Promote safety culture through awareness campaigns, toolbox talks, and safety committees
  • Lead safety drills and emergency preparedness exercises
  • Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain incident reports, analyze trends, and track safety KPIs for continuous improvement
  • Coordinate with external agencies for audits, inspections, and safety compliance
  • Manage emergency response plans, fire safety measures, and crisis management procedures

Requirements

  • Develop, implement, and monitor the company’s health safety policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with Spanish legislation (e.g., Ley de Prevención de Riesgos Laborales 31/1995) and EU regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and workplace inspections to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement preventive measures.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies such as INSST (Instituto Nacional de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo) and local labor authorities.
  • Define global health safety strategy for Celonis and ensure its implementation at each location.
  • Contribute to and assist in all global health safety audits and keep adequate records.
  • Design and deliver health safety training programs for employees at all levels, including emergency response, first aid, ergonomics, and safe work practices.
  • Promote a strong safety culture within the company by driving awareness campaigns, toolbox talks, and safety committees.
  • Lead and manage safety drills and emergency preparedness exercises.
  • Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain and analyze incident reports, trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous safety improvements.
  • Ensure the proper reporting of occupational illnesses and accidents to regulatory authorities.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all health safety-related matters within the organization.
  • Work closely with HR, Workplace, and department heads to integrate HSE practices into daily business operations.
  • Manage external audits, inspections, and interactions with health safety service providers such as occupational health services and external risk prevention agencies.
  • Develop and oversee emergency response plans and coordinate crisis management procedures.
  • Ensure proper fire safety measures, evacuation plans, and emergency response team training.
  • Possess a university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) and a Master’s degree in Occupational Risk Prevention.
  • Hold certifications in health safety such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or ISO 45001 Lead Auditor (highly desirable).
  • Have a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in a health safety leadership role, preferably in a large organization.
  • Have strong knowledge of Spanish and EU health safety regulations.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, audits, and investigations.
  • Possess excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
  • Be fluent in both Spanish and English, written and spoken.
  • Have strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
