Job Description
This role involves writing and managing technical specifications for complex architectural projects across various building types, collaborating with project teams, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting sustainable design initiatives within a dynamic architecture and engineering firm.
Responsibilities
- •Write specifications for complex projects across various building types.
- •Produce Project Manuals and author architectural sections for inclusion in the manuals.
- •Manage multiple projects, deadlines, and deliverables across different phases and delivery methods.
- •Coordinate project specifications with other disciplines and review project drawings for technical accuracy.
- •Develop and improve master specifications, including content for sustainability and regional conditions.
- •Attend industry conferences and participate in project meetings to support project development.
- •Educate and mentor less experienced staff on specification content and best practices.
- •Assist during Construction Administration with shop drawing and product substitution reviews.
- •Build and maintain relationships with vendors and industry resources.
Requirements
- •Bachelor Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or a relevant field required
- •A minimum of 6 years of related experience in the architecture, engineering or construction industry
- •A minimum of three 3 years of specifications writing experience
- •Knowledge of building codes and construction techniques
- •Understanding of Contracts and relationship to Division 00 01
- •Ability to perform Coordination QA QC across disciplines
- •Must possess business acumen, be a critical thinker and highly analytical
- •Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, teamwork, collaboration and conflict resolution skills
- •Proficiency in MS Office, MS Teams, MS One Note, and BlueBeam Revu
- •Familiarity with specification editing software is required
- •Proficiency in e-SPECS for Revit is preferred
