Job Description

The Project Architect will lead the development of technical aspects of a behavioral health project, coordinating with various disciplines to ensure integrated deliverables and compliance. Responsibilities include design leadership, project coordination, client communication, and team management throughout all project phases.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design, production, coordination, and architectural detailing as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Coordinate engineering systems with engineers and consultants.
  • Prepare design sketches of moderate to complex site plans.
  • Communicate project status, design intent, and construction updates to stakeholders.
  • Participate in business development activities.
  • Perform field site inspections and visits.
  • Develop and maintain positive client relations throughout the project.
  • Facilitate integration of performance-based and sustainable design strategies.
  • Implement CannonDesign Method to enhance service delivery and team productivity.
  • Supervise, monitor, train, and direct work of interns and less experienced team members.
  • Monitor technical quality of projects and enforce QA QC process standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in a relevant field required.
  • Minimum 8 years of related professional experience required which includes 3 years of construction documentation on institutional and commercial projects, and 2 years in a responsible role in construction administration.
  • Current Architectural Registration in the United States required.
  • Knowledge of building codes and requirements.
  • Must possess business acumen.
  • Must be a critical thinker.
  • Must be highly analytical.
  • Must be a fully qualified professional able to perform work with a high degree of latitude, with some ambiguity in work.
  • Must have the ability to be client facing with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong technical knowledge, coordination skills and the ability to build a rapport with and lead the project team and client is essential.
  • Proficiency with Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite required.
