Job Description
A Field Technical Specialist conducts inspections and assessments of industrial structures and equipment, collaborates with engineers to develop repair plans, and ensures project quality and safety compliance through field measurements and data analysis across North America.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections and condition assessments of industrial structures and equipment
- Perform field measurements to collect data for analysis and reporting
- Collaborate with engineers to develop repair plans based on assessment findings
- Implement quality assurance and quality control protocols to ensure project compliance
- Analyze inspection data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement
- Support safety planning and promote a safe working environment for personnel
Requirements
- Possess a 2-year technical degree.
- Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the relevant field.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Be able to perform field measurements to gather data for analysis and reporting.
- Be able to conduct inspection for field condition assessments of industrial structures and equipment.
- Be able to travel up to 50% throughout North America to support field operations.
- Meet all client-specific site requirements prior to deployment on any field assignment, including physical mobility on the ground and at heights.
- Possess the physical ability to pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
- Be able to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and occasionally work off platforms and scaffolding using appropriate fall protection.
- Be able to work in all weather conditions including heat, rain, cold, and wind while wearing the appropriate PPE such as hard hat, safety glasses, goggles, earplugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves, and steel-toed work boots.
- Be able to position oneself to work in confined spaces.
- Be able to adhere to a client’s random drug testing program prior to entering their site.
- Be able to meet a client’s facial hair safety policy prior to entering their site.
