Job Description
The Workplace Technician at Aurora is responsible for maintaining and repairing facilities, managing office operations, coordinating with vendors, and supporting various logistical tasks to ensure a safe, efficient, and well-organized work environment at the Dallas location.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform building and grounds inspections and execute repairs
- Conduct light carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, and mechanical repairs
- Respond to and close work orders promptly
- Maintain cleanliness of buildings and grounds
- Assist with event setups and furniture moves
- Prepare workspaces, office relocations, and equipment installations or modifications
- Ensure safety and logical procedures during work
- Organize and store facilities materials and equipment
- Respond to facility emergencies
- Coordinate with vendors and manage service delivery
- Manage and submit purchase orders
- Welcome clients and visitors, assist with sign-ins and packages
- Support food service program by auditing meal counts and quality
- Assist with outgoing packages and create shipping labels
- Operate light equipment safely and become certified as needed
- Travel between office locations to provide support
Requirements
- Three years of experience in facilities, hospitality, corporate services, or property management.
- Proficient with hand and power tools.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to read and follow complex instructions and document processes.
- Manages own time efficiently, handles and prioritizes multiple tasks, and meets timelines.
- Takes direction and works well independently and as needed on a team.
- Flexible to work overtime or on weekends to respond to facilities emergencies or special projects as needed.
- Reliable with strong customer service orientation and follow-through.
- Proactive and organized with problem-solving skills and excellent judgment.
- Able to become certified and safely operate light equipment such as forklifts and scissor lifts.
- Frequently travel 1 hour each way between office locations to provide support as needed.
- Occasional travel to offices 4 and 8 hours away.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in Google Suite.
- Experience using office machinery such as Envoy, printers, mail services, etc.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $33.17 - $49.52 per hour, with potential for annual bonus and equity compensation
Work schedule: Overtime and weekend work as needed, occasional travel to distant offices
