Job Description
The Vehicle Reliability Engineer I at Aurora is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and supporting the autonomous vehicle fleet's hardware and software issues, collaborating with engineering and operations teams to improve vehicle performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
- •Troubleshoot, diagnose, and track issues encountered by the autonomous vehicle fleet in the field
- •Provide technical support for software and hardware issues on vehicles
- •Perform root cause analysis for software and hardware faults
- •Collaborate with engineering, operations, and product teams to improve vehicle performance and reduce faults
- •Triage vehicle issues by analyzing data and supporting engineering teams in identifying corrective actions
- •Create run books to standardize and accelerate troubleshooting processes
- •Perform sensor calibrations, fleet upgrades, and platform bring-up activities
Requirements
- •At least 2 years of experience with the Linux Operating System in a support and troubleshooting capacity.
- •Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills from inception through documentation and closure.
- •Experience working with various complex hardware and software systems including lidar, radar, cameras, and computers.
- •Detail oriented self starter with strong desire to learn new skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- •Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate across different teams, offices, and time zones.
- •Ability to wear different hats and quickly multitask.
- •Excellent documentation skills.
- •A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related STEM field.
