Job Description
The job involves piloting autonomous semi trucks for testing and development purposes, providing real-time feedback to engineers, and ensuring safe operation during night shifts. The role requires a Class A Driver's license and a commitment to monitoring and improving self-driving technology.
Responsibilities
- •Safely pilot autonomous semi trucks for on-road and closed course testing
- •Monitor the Aurora Driver during extended stretches of autonomy
- •Log real-time feedback regarding autonomy and platform performance
- •Escalate operational blockers with suggested solutions
- •Work on cross-functional projects as time permits
- •Maintain up-to-date knowledge of self-driving technology
- •Understand daily software and operational changes
- •Work toward quantitative and qualitative goals impacting Vehicle Operations
- •Interact with the public as an ambassador for Aurora
Requirements
- •Minimum 3 years of experience driving trucks commercially
- •Valid U.S. Driver's License
- •Interstate Class-A Commercial Driver's License
- •Clean driving record with 0 violation points
- •Ability to travel as needed
- •Available to work day and/or night shifts, second and/or third shift
- •Ability to work rotating shifts as needed
- •Ability to work some overtime and weekends
- •Ability to work 10-12 hour shifts, with 80% of shift time spent in vehicle as office
- •Must pass pre-employment, post-incident, and randomized drug testing in accordance with FMCSA requirements
- •Must be at least 21 years of age
- •Must pass DOT physical
- •Meet all DOT qualifications
Benefits
- •Compensation/salary range: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
- •Work schedule: Four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, starting between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM
