Job Description
The System Test Engineer 2 at Aurora is responsible for developing, executing, and analyzing system-level tests of the Aurora Driver, supporting safety verification and validation through various testing methods, and collaborating with development teams to ensure system performance and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain test strategies, plans, and procedures for system-level testing of the Aurora Driver
- Execute diverse testing methods including simulation, Hardware-In-Loop (HIL), track, and road testing
- Analyze test results, identify defects or anomalies, and investigate root causes
- Collaborate with development teams to resolve issues and improve system performance
- Communicate complex test findings clearly to external teams, peers, and stakeholders
- Design, develop, and train others in testing processes that follow engineering best practices
Requirements
- Degree in, or highly relevant experience in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or another relevant engineering field
- 2-5 years of relevant industry experience in test and evaluation of complex systems
- Proven experience in test and evaluation of complex systems
- Experience with test methods, tools, and frameworks
- Ability to synthesize data into meaningful information to support decision making
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Develop and maintain test strategies, plans, and procedures for system-level testing of the Aurora Driver
- Implement diverse testing methods including simulation, Hardware-In-Loop (HIL), track, and road testing in support of autonomy development and system verification and validation
- Execute tests, analyze results, and identify defects or anomalies in system behavior
- Work closely with development teams to investigate root causes and drive resolution of issues
- Provide frequent, simple, and clear written and verbal communication of complex ideas to external teams, peers, and stakeholders
