Job Description
The Program Manager will support autonomous vehicle operations, market launches, and operational excellence initiatives by coordinating testing activities, process improvements, and team leadership in a fast-paced, travel-intensive environment.
Responsibilities
- •Travel to new markets and launch sites to support autonomous vehicle testing and operations.
- •Act as point of contact for key commercial operations programs and provide updates to leadership.
- •Support process improvement initiatives through time studies and Kaizen events.
- •Interact with the public as an ambassador for Aurora.
- •Understand and communicate major Aurora initiatives and programs to team members.
- •Lead and support team development, ensuring continuous growth and opportunities.
- •Support day-to-day vehicle operations, including testing and in-vehicle activities.
- •Become certified in vehicle operation, terminal operation, or dispatching to support testing activities.
Requirements
- •Ability to travel frequently, supporting market launches and operational activities, with up to 50% travel per annum.
- •Experience working in a collaborative environment.
- •Ability to lead by example, motivate teams, and support building on individual strengths and opportunities to ensure continuous growth and development.
- •Experience supporting operational staff with the execution of critical autonomous vehicle testing activities and adoption of new tools and features.
- •Ability to navigate through complex project landscapes and champion problem-solving.
- •Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate essential information to team members and leadership.
- •Ability to support process improvements initiatives, including conducting time studies and facilitating Kaizen events and Gemba walks.
- •Understanding of all major Aurora initiatives and programs, with the ability to communicate this information effectively.
- •Ability to support and act as a point of contact for key commercial operations programs and provide regular updates to leadership.
- •Ability to become certified as a Vehicle Operator, Terminal Operator, or Dispatcher to support in-vehicle testing and understand day-to-day operations.
- •Safety-focused mindset.
- •Valid U.S. driver’s license with at least 5 years of driving history and a clean driving record, validated by MVR check.
- •Flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends as required.
- •Strong organizational skills.
- •Intermediate technical aptitude and ability to learn new software applications and processes.
