Job Description
The Energy Analyst role involves performing quantitative market analysis, modeling, and forecasting to support energy decision-making and resource planning, with a focus on the evolving electric grid and energy transition efforts.
Responsibilities
- •Develop and support fundamental analysis for Ascend's Market Intelligence product.
- •Perform quantitative analysis considering technical, economic, market rules, and regulatory factors.
- •Validate and troubleshoot models with attention to detail.
- •Research, present, and justify market forecasts and assumptions.
- •Provide expertise in analytic modeling for risk management, asset valuation, and resource planning.
- •Create reports, visualizations, and presentations to communicate complex information.
- •Manage projects to ensure timely completion using analytical tools like Excel, Python, or R.
Requirements
- •Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, such as economics or engineering, with evidence of strong academic performance.
- •Strong quantitative analytical skills, including the use of Excel and existing knowledge or the ability to learn the basics of coding in software packages such as SAS, Python, or R.
- •Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork skills, and work ethic.
- •Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- •Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and problem-solve with minimum supervision.
- •Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
