Job Description
A Senior Tax Associate specializing in State Income and Franchise Tax, responsible for assisting clients with tax strategies, compliance, and planning within a dynamic and growth-oriented CPA and advisory firm.
Responsibilities
- •Assist clients with state income and franchise tax compliance and planning
- •Prepare and review state tax returns and related documentation
- •Research and analyze state tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance
- •Provide tax consulting and advisory services to clients regarding state tax strategies
- •Support audit defense and correspondence with state tax authorities
Requirements
- •Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience working in state income and franchise tax, with demonstrated expertise in these areas.
- •Have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- •Demonstrate proficiency in preparing, reviewing, and analyzing state income and franchise tax returns and related compliance documentation.
- •Possess strong knowledge of state and local tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements relevant to income and franchise taxes.
- •Have the ability to interpret and apply complex tax laws and regulations to client situations.
- •Exhibit excellent analytical, problem-solving, and research skills to support tax planning and compliance activities.
- •Be capable of working independently and managing multiple client engagements with minimal supervision.
- •Have effective communication skills to clearly explain tax issues and recommendations to clients and team members.
- •Possess the physical ability to perform tasks such as sitting for extended periods, working at a computer, and handling documents as required for tax preparation and review.
