Job Description
The Product Manager II at Alarm.com is responsible for overseeing the entire product development lifecycle of smart home security and IoT solutions, working closely with engineering, design, and stakeholders to develop, launch, and improve products that enhance safety and convenience for users worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the entire product development life cycle, including writing specifications, testing features, managing beta programs, and developing marketing materials and documentation.
- Collaborate with product designers and software engineers to make strategic and tactical decisions about product functionality.
- Engage with customers and monitoring station partners to understand their needs, workflows, and pain points, and translate these into detailed requirements.
- Act as the product champion to internal sales, marketing, and support teams.
- Work with engineering, support, sales, and partners to troubleshoot and resolve escalated product issues.
- Recommend and prioritize improvements to existing products based on feedback.
Requirements
- A B.S. or B.A. degree is required. Degree in an engineering discipline, computer science, math, physics, or related field is highly preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience in product, project, or program management with a track record for managing and launching successful products.
- Deeply curious and understand the importance of why before you get into the what.
- Strong ability to process and synthesize information, quickly build domain knowledge, draw logical conclusions, and frame decisions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work across, up, and down the work organization.
- Genuine self-starter who proactively identifies challenges and opportunities and works across the team to generate and implement solutions.
- A great collaborator who knows that to deliver anything of value is a team effort and likes to work closely with engineers to find the best solution to a problem.
- Proven ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, agile-driven engineering team, based on mutual trust and credibility.
- Experience with Atlassian Product Suite including JIRA, Confluence, etc.
